With efficient German organisation and a lively stadium atmosphere, the Hockenheimring offers an excellent fan experience. Here's your trackside guide for the 2019 German Grand Prix, including the on-track timetable.
Mick Schumacher Demonstration Laps
The 20-year-old son of 7-time World Champion Michael Schumacher will be piloting his father's legendary Ferrari F2004 on several demonstration runs at the Hockenheimring this year. Mick Schumacher, who is competing in Formula 2 this season and is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, will take to the track before qualifying on Saturday (13:05-13:10) and again on Sunday before the F1 Drivers' parade (12:45-13:00).
F1 Fanzone & Drivers' Autograph Sessions
T he main trackside entertainment area at the Hockenheimring can be found behind the South Grandstand (Südtribüne). In addition to a large F1 store where you can stock up on team merchandise and all the usual Esports simulators and interactive challenges, there's also a large stage that will host music acts and drivers autograph sessions over the weekend. The drivers' autograph sessions are being split over two days this year:
- Saturday, July 27 (18:00-19:45): Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull & Alfa Romeo
- Sunday, July 28 (09:00-10:45): Haas, Renault, McLaren, Racing Point, Toro Rosso & Williams
Hockenheimring Motorsport Museum
Also located near the South Grandstand, the circuit museum has over 300 cars on display, including an interesting selection of historic F1 machinery. Entrance costs just €1 with your race ticket and there's also a store where you can buy circuit-themed merchandise.
Bond in Motion
A new exhibition tracing the legendary cars of James Bond is travelling to several races this year, including the 2019 German Grand Prix. Classic cars featured include the 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III from Goldfinger and the Aston Martin DB10 from Spectre. Entrance is FREE but you need to register on this link for your chosen timeslot on race weekend.
Saturday Night Street Party in Hockenheim
The town of Hockenheim comes to life on Saturday night for a F1 Street Party on Karlsruher Straße. With eight participating restaurants and six live acts playing throughout the evening on three stages, it promises to a memorable evening. Running from 18:00-24:00, there's also an E-Kart track, DJs and street displays. Learn more here.

On-Track Action
The Formula 1 cars hit the track for the first of two 90-minute practice sessions at the Hockenheimring on Friday from 11:00, while qualifying begins at 15:00 on Saturday and the main event is scheduled for 15:10 on Sunday. The support schedule at the 2019 German Grand Prix features ADAC Formula 4, with plenty of up and coming young drivers on the grid, including Arthur Leclerc, younger brother of Ferrari driver Charles. Single -make Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Renault Clio Cup series will also be racing over the weekend.
